    USB links for spacecraft

SpaceWire has grown into the world standard for high-speed links and networks aboard spacecraft, letting different systems communicate in the same way as USB for home computers. Widely used in international space missions, the SpaceWire standard developed through a series of ESA R&D projects and a set of specifications and standards. Defining the SpaceWire standard has in turn given rise to a new and thriving market, with more than 15 suppliers and 150 customers of SpaceWire products worldwide.
