| | | |  | Thomas Reiter was born on 23 May 1958 in Frankfurt, Germany. He has flown in space twice, on Euromir 95/Soyuz TM-22 and STS-121/Astrolab. In October 2007, Reiter left the European Astronaut Corps to take on a new role on the Executive Board of the German Space Agency (DLR) with responsibility for space.
