  OPS-G Monthly Forum - 2007

The 'OPS-G Forum' is a monthly seminar organised by the Ground Systems Engineering Dept., known as 'OPS-G', at ESA's European Space Operations Centre (ESOC), Darmstadt, Germany. Events are of interest to registered members of the space operations community, academia and the media.

EGOS - European Ground Operating System
EGOS User Desktop

2 November 2007

The EGOS User Desktop is defined as a part of the EGOS (ESA Ground Operation Software) project and provides the building blocks and the framework to support the user with front-end for monitoring and controlling of applications.

Cebreros 35-metre deep space antenna
Ka-band architecture

5 October 2007

The possibility of using K- and Ka-band frequencies (26 & 32 GHz) in the ESTRACK deep-space stations brings substantial change in the architecture of future operational ground segments. This forum will present planned changes in the deep-space antennas as well as the co-existence of X, K and Ka components in an upgraded architecture.

EGOS - European Ground Operating System
EGOS Core Components

7 September 2007

EGOS Core Components (the new name for EGOS Low Level Components) is the first step along the road to a harmonised Ground Data Systems Infrastructure based on the EGOS concepts that have been developed in the previous years.

ESA`s first deep-space ground station at New Norcia (Western Aus
Migration of ESA Missions to TCP/IP and SLE

15 June 2007

This seminar provides an overview on the migration of all the ESA missions controlled by ESOC from X.25 to TCP/IP and from proprietary protocols between Mission Control System and Ground Station to the CCSDS Space Link Extension protocol.

OPS-G Forum
CCSDS spacecraft monitoring & control

4 May 2007

This seminar provides an overview of the status of the activities of the CCSDS Spacecraft Monitoring and Control (SM&C) working group, which actively involves ten space agencies.

Newton's cannon
Application of Orbit and Attitude Fundamentals

27 April 2007

The presentation will address advanced topics related to orbit and attitude dynamics based on a previous talk which covered the fundamentals.

ESA Delta-DOR now operational in ESTRACK
ESA Delta DOR: from implementation to operation

16 March 2007

The presentation will report on experiences gained during the past year of delta-DOR at ESA. The system was deployed and validated in ESA deep space stations, provided substantial support to VEX orbit insertion, was handed over to Operations and was essential for support during the Rosetta Mars swing-by.
