Release of an ESA video on robotized tele-echography (ARTIS)
A demonstration of the ARTIS service took successfully place at the premises of Tours hospital, in France, on 17 April 2009 in the presence of different potential users. A promotional video of ARTIS was also produced during this event. ARTIS (Advanced Robotic Tele-echography Integrated Service) is an ESA GSP-funded activity aiming at deploying and validating an end-to-end service of robotized tele-echography.
Building on the successful demonstration carried out in presence of different users having specified an interest in robotized tele-echography, ESA has produced some video material to promote this new service concept. This video describes how robotized tele-echography moved from a concept to an operational service through different types of ESA’s support (e.g. MAP programme, GSP programme) and includes interviews of potential users. This short movie also introduces the reasons why the European Space Agency is interested in activities related to health.
