On-board Data Processing - Benchmarks In order to be able to assess the performance of a variety of platforms for onboard data processing ESA has compiled a Next Generation DSP benchmark. This benchmark is already used for the performance assessment of processors and computers in several ongoing developments. The benchmark specification is available via email request to
In addition, specific benchmark algorithms / software are made available in case of general interest or for project specific use. These are made available via the link list on the right. The following algorithms are provided:
NIR HAWAII-2RG BM algorithm The code provided via link "NIR HAWAII-2RG BM algorithm" in the file "preProcessing_publicRelease_20120629_v1.0" contains the algorithms used to process raw frames coming from the near infrared (NIR) HAWAII-2RG detector. The code allows for a given ramp to compute all frames and obtain the final signal and its uncertainty. It is provided for test and benchmarking purposes. A presentation is also provided via the link "NIR HAWAII-2RG BM algo PPT". It explains the use of the detector and the basic purpose of the algorithm, as well as some benchmarking results on LEON and PPC processors. Users are encouraged to share their benchmarking results with ESA under the above email address. Last update: 3 July 2012 | |
