Satellite eyes focus on El Niño   ASST products processed at RAL The data are averaged over one month, and to obtain anomalies, the averaged surface temperature of the corresponding month in 1995 was subtracted   Temperature and Anomalies in October 2000   The height is the sea level anomaly (-40 to +40 cm) measured by the Radar Altimeter and the colour is the sea surface temperature anomaly (-6 to +8 degrees) measured by the Along Track Scanning Radiometer (ATSR).
