Space Shuttle Discovery launched in a dark sky over Florida on the STS-116 mission to the International Space Station. The seven strong crew includes ESA astronaut Christer Fuglesang from Sweden.

Space Shuttle Discovery waits on the launch pad at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, Florida. Discovery will carry seven astronauts on the STS-116 mission to the International Space Station. The crew included ESA astronaut Christer Fuglesang from Sweden.
