Astronaut training at EAC

ESA astronaut Frank De Winne is currently in training ahead of his long-duration mission to the International Space Station scheduled for May to November 2009. De Winne was recently at the European Astronaut Centre (EAC) in Cologne, Germany, to receive training in some of the European experiments he will perform during his stay on the Space Station. He was accompanied at EAC by his ESA astronaut colleague André Kuipers who is assigned as his back-up for the mission.

De Winne is receives training in the Neurospat experiment in preparation for his long-duration mission to the International Space Station. Neurospat aims to study the processing pattern of the brain during cognitive tasks in microgravity. De Winne is scheduled to visit the ISS between May and November 2009.
