Space technology put into service for global water resources observations ![]() ![]() The Amazon River Basin as observed by ERS-1 Radar Altimeter, including so-called 'wet'radar echoes from rivers, lakes and swamps. Radar altimetry data provides researchers with the means to monitor global river and lake levels. ![]() The second “Space for Hydrology” workshop, organised by ESA in collaboration with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), was held in Geneva, from 12-14 November 2007.
