The snow-dusted peak of the Kliuchevskoi volcano casts a clear shadow in this image, acquired on 18 November 2005 by the Compact High Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (CHRIS) onboard ESA's Proba satellite. The mountain is the tallest as well as one of the most active volcanoes in Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula.
