20 September 2011   Organic agriculture provides healthy food and protects the environment by practising methods that avoid the widespread dissemination of chemicals. ESA is now helping to develop the use of satellite images for certifying crops as organic.

New ESA project supports aquaculture
 
10 June 2011   Fish farming is the world’s fastest growing food production method and is projected to continue rising to meet the demands of an increasing world population. ESA’s new Aquaculture project will support sustainable aquaculture by developing an information service based on state-of-the-art remote sensing.

ESA and the World Bank join forces
 
4 May 2011   Recognising the value of using Earth observation satellite data to support development activities, ESA and the World Bank will work together on several projects through the 'eoworld' joint initiative.
