Etna eruption
Mount Etna

Fascinating fact...

One of the world’s worst-ever volcanic eruptions took place 74,000 years ago on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia.

The Toba eruption blasted up to 6,000 cubic km of magma and pulverised rock into the air. The suspension of so much dust in the atmosphere caused a volcanic winter that lasted for several years.
