Invitation for participation in a GENESIS Thematic Network Task Force - Ideas on GALILEO Services and Applications for SMEs

The GENESIS project is a thematic network supporting the European Commission in charge of the GALILEO Programme, in cooperation with the European Space Agency.
GENESIS, with the sustain of
the European Commission, has created a task force to collect the views
of European Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) on GALILEO Programme.
This task force has launched
a first Workshop, which has been held on the 9th of November 2000, in
Bruxelles, aimed at informing attendees about the GALILEO programme, and
leaving room for SMEs to perform voluntary presentations on their view
for enhance and foster the SMEs participation in the GALILEO Programme.
A second Workshop will be organised in Autumn this year, with the aim to give information on the programme and to collect ideas of SMEs on possible applications of GALILEO Services and on the development of system based on satellite navigation infrastructure.
The European Commission is
seeking ideas on the potential involvement of SMEs in the use of GALILEO
services and on the development of systems based on satellite navigation
infrastructures. The most promising and innovative ideas will be translated
into call for detailed proposals later this year.
For this purpose, you are therefore cordially invited, with this letter,
to provide your ideas for developing GALILEO services and applications.
These ideas, in a form of short papers, should be provided via e-mail
to the following e-mail address: mario.caporale@brux.fdc.fr
within two weeks from the reception of this letter, and however not later
than the 12th of September 2001.
The SME Unit of ESA fully supports this Initiative, and encourages you to give inputs as explained above and to the indicate contact point. Your inputs will undergo a selection and the best ideas will constitute the basis for an Announcement of opportunity to be issued within few months from now.
