2nd ESTB workshop to meet in Nice

On 12 November the 2nd EGNOS System Test Bed Workshop will take place in Nice, France. This event will precede the international NavConvention 2001 conference, an important venue for all those engaged in state-of-the-art satellite navigation applications and services.
Companies and individuals interested in the latest developments concerning the use of satellites for navigation will find much to interest them, both at the workshop and at the conference.
The EGNOS System Test Bed (ESTB) is a precursor to the EGNOS system that will become operational in 2004. Already in operation, it allows EGNOS receivers and applications to be tested in a realistic environment as well as the new services that rely on the validation of EGNOS integrity or wide area differential signals.
The main aim of the workshop is to provide a synopsis on how the Test Bed has performed since it first came into operation in early 2000 and how it will evolve. Participants will be given an overview of planned tests and demonstrations, and be able to exchange ideas with ESTB users and all those interested in advanced satellite navigation.
More than 100 people attended the first ESTB Workshop held in Toulouse in July 2000. Since then, major advances have been made with the ESTB and more innovative applications and services have been put into practice. This makes this workshop a ‘must’ for all those interested in state-of-the-art satellite navigation.
