11 July 2006 The Galileo Joint Undertaking, set up by the European Commission and ESA, has issued a call for ideas relating to global navigation satellite systems research and development activities. The present call for ideas has been launched with the objective of gathering ideas from the different European partners (industry, research institutes, and universities) for innovative research and development activities that would allow Europe to take an important role in the worldwide Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) scene over the coming decade.
These ideas will be of significant help to European institutions in designing the appropriate research and development programmes to be supported by the European Commission Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Development, covering the period from 2007 to 2013, and the ESA European GNSS Evolution Programme.
Further details and a questionnaire can be obtained from the GJU web site (link in right-hand menu).
The deadline for submission of ideas is 25 August 2006.
