25 January 2010 In 1895 German physicist Wilhelm Röntgen discovered rays which he didn't know much about, so he called them X-Rays.
One of the best known applications for these rays today is medical imaging. In space scientists are interested in the sources of X-Rays. The ten year XMM Newton mission is the subject of this "Space" programme.
