Infrared sensors on Germany's BIRD can detect fires
Infrared sensors on the German Aerospace Centre DLR's BIRD satellite are optimised for fire detection. BIRD was used in the DEMOBIRD demonstration in May, as part of the ESA Earth Watch Fuegosat Programme.
