This image of Phobos has been obtained by the High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on board ESA’s Mars Express on 3 August 2008 (orbit 5889), at a distance of 656 km from the moon’s centre. The image was taken using HRSC’s nadir channel, at a resolution of 26 m/pixel.
The squares represent the areas also imaged by the Super Resolution Channel (SRC). A non-annotated version can be downloaded here.
