Go to topicA Nadir-only viewing configuration of the ASIM payload. MMIA are the detectors in the optical range (cameras and photometers) and MXGS is the X-ray and Gamma-ray detector. The large box with holes on top of the MXGS is a so-called coded mask, necessary for the imaging of the Gamma-rays. The long support structures are needed to provide an open field of view. The DHPU is for data handling and power distribution.
