Test mass

LISA Pathfinder test mass. Two of these 4.6-cm-cubed test masses will float freely inside the spacecraft, their relative positions measured by ultra-precise laser interferometry. The test masses are made from a mixture of gold and platinum to minimise their magnetic properties.
