The Integrated Cargo Carrier (ICC)of ATV-3 was mated with stack of propulsion and avionics modules in the S5 payload processing facility of the Guiana Space Centre in Kourou. The service module, made in Bremen, Germany, by Astrium Gmbh, comprises the 'brain' and propulsion system of the ATV. The cargo compartment has, in addition to dy cargo in its pressurised hold, the tanks containing water, gas and propellant for the Station; this part has been built in Turin, Italy, by Thales Alenia Space. Launch of this ATV Edoardo Amaldi is targeted to March 2012.
