The left image includes ozone profile measurements on 11 September 2022 as derived from Copernicus Sentinel-5P. The image, produced by the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI), shows the vertical distribution of ozone in a across-section through the circumpolar vortex (wind fields) that creates a natural border between areas with high ozone concentrations and the ozone hole over the South Pole. The right image shows the location of the ozone profile measurements using a total ozone map.
