MTG-I1 Launch and Early Orbit Phase simulations

Two full teams of engineers at Telespazio Fucino Space Centre, Italy, support operations for the Launch and Early Orbit Phase (LEOP) simulations in preparation for the upcoming launch of MTG-I1.

MTG-I1, the first Meteosat Third Generation satellite, is currently at Europe’s Spaceport being readied for liftoff on an Ariane 5 rocket in December. Once in geostationary orbit, this new satellite, which carries two new extremely sensitive instruments, promises to further bolster Europe's leadership in weather forecasting.
