ESTCube-2 undergoing electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing at the Observatory of Tartu. These tests ensure that the satellite is compatible with the electromagnetic environment in space, where it will soon be sent. It is important that ESTCube-2 does not emit excessive electromagnetic interference, i.e. disturbances, that interfere with the operation of other electrical devices while in orbit.
Through testing, we also verified that the satellite would continue to operate as planned in the face of several natural electromagnetic phenomena in space.
During the launch of the satellite, it is especially important that possible interference does not disturb the radio communication between the rocket and its operators, or the communication with other satellites while in orbit.
