Thousands of people in cities all over Europe are working to ensure European access to space, bringing all the benefits of our wider Universe to people on Earth. This satellite photo highlights one of the cities of Ariane 6, where people are working to make Europe’s new heavy-lift rocket, Ariane 6, fly.
The city of Seville, Spain, has more than a hundred years of aeronautical experience. With this and its industrial environment came the natural conclusion that it was time to strengthen the city’s links with space in all its aspects. Airbus Defence & Space and other high-tech and aerospace companies have an important presence in this city and are collaborating on the European Ariane programme.
In Seville, Airbus employs 3000 people at two industrial sites: FAL San Pablo and PreFAL Tablada. FAL San Pablo is dedicated to the final assembly of regional and military aircraft, while PreFAL Tablada produces various aeronautical components. Since 2019, the Tablada site, which stands out for its cutting-edge capabilities, both in production and in innovation and development, has been participating in the Ariane 6 programme.
