Simulated feature tracking compared to actual flyby

In advance of Hera's experimental surface feature tracking for autonomous navigation, the GMV team simulated Mars in detail using ESA’s Planetary and Asteroid Natural scene Generation Utility, PANGU, and ran it through our GNC testbed. The actual flyby results broadly matched the simulation, but its robustness impressed them, not losing track of any targets across the planet during the activation.
