A dialogue with the Hera spacecraft

ESA Head of Systems Department Ian Carnelli demonstrates the spacecraft companion that allows the public to 'chat' with the Hera spacecraft. Hera was launched in 2024 towards the asteroid system Didymos. As part of the world’s first test of asteroid deflection, Hera will perform a detailed post-impact survey of the target asteroid, the moonlet Dimorphos (impacted by the NASA DART mission).
