On 25 June, with just a few days to go before scheduled launch, the Meteosat Third Generation Sounder (MTG-S1) satellite, together with the instrument for the Copernicus Sentinel-4 mission, were ready to be placed inside the launch rocket.
First, the MTG-S1 satellite was attached to the flight adaptor, a structure that connects the satellite to the rocket and provides a secure mount during launch. The adaptor will help to separate the satellite from the second stage of launcher when they reach the right altitude.
