Seeing a future in space

Part of ESA’s Living Planet Symposium was dedicated to school activities, which were attended by more than 2200 school children. The virtual reality headsets proved to be hugely popular and inspirational!

The symposium, one of the world’s leading Earth observation conferences, took place in Vienna, 23–27 June 2025. More than 6500 participants from almost 120 countries attended the event. With more than 4200 scientific presentations and posters, the symposium provided a forum and meeting point for scientists, academics and space industry representatives, as well as students and citizens.
