MetOp-SG and MTG: taking weather forecasting into the future

The new generation of MetOp satellites, MetOp-Second Generation (MetOp-SG), will ensure the continued delivery of vital global observations for the next two decades. It will provide enhanced accuracy and resolution compared to the first MetOp mission.

And building on the success of both the first generation of Meteosat missions and the subsequent Meteosat Second Generation (MSG) series, Meteosat Third Generation (MTG) guarantees the continuity of data for weather forecasting from geostationary orbit for the next two decades.
