GIOVE-A in the cleanroom (2005)

GIOVE-A (Galileo In-Orbit Validation Element) being prepared for testing in the ESTEC cleanroom in July 2005. GIOVE-A was the first demonstrator satellite in the Galileo programme. It was built by SSTL to secure the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) frequencies and to demonstrate prototypes of the navigation payload.
