On 25 July 2018, Ariane 5 carried Galileo satellites 23-26 into orbit from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana. This launch, otherwise known as Galileo Launch 10, marked the end of the second phase of Galileo deployment. A further 12 Galileo Full Operational Capability (FOC) satellites, Batch 3, were prepared as in-orbit spares and replacements for the oldest Galileo satellites. Launches of Batch 3 Galileo satellites began in 2021 and continue to present day.
