Europe’s Vega-C rocket launched Kompsat-7 for the Korea Aerospace Research Institute from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana on 1 December 14:21 local time (17:21 GMT, 18:21 CET).
Kompsat-7 (KOrea Multi-Purpose SATellite-7) will provide high-resolution satellite images for South-Korea's government and institutions.
This Vega-C flight, designated VV28 was run by Arianespace. Vega-C placed Kompsat-7 in a Sun-synchronous orbit, around 45 minutes after liftoff.
Kompsat-7 was developed by the Korea Aerospace Research Institute at its facility in Daejeon, South Korea, and it weighs around 2000 kg on the launch pad.
