Teams at NASA's Kennedy Space Center lift the Orion spacecraft for Artemis II into a vacuum chamber for testing in April 2024.
From top to bottom, Orion's Crew Module Adapter, cylindrical European Service Module, and conical Spacecraft Adapter can be seen.
We can also see the three types of engines on the European Service Module: the central main engine and eight smaller auxiliary thrusters underneath the Orion spacecraft, as well as 24 smaller reaction control system engines arranged in six pods of four (seen in red around the module).
