Monitoring signals from deep space antenna 4

Network Operations Centre (NOC) operator Javier Motos at the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) remotely monitoring the radio signal from deep space antenna 4 (DSA 4) using the antenna’s spectrum analyser on 1 April 2026.
A spectrum analyser is a tool that shows the strength of different radio signals across a range of frequencies. It provides a visual representation of the otherwise invisible radio environment, helping operators check the quality of uplink and downlink signals, spot interference, verify that transmissions are on the correct frequency, detect anomalies and monitor the overall radio frequency environment around the antenna.
