Two outcomes from the 'Recycling, Sustainability and Circular Solutions for Future Exploration' activity supported by ESA Discovery. Left: a QR code, invisible in daylight but visible under UV light, which can be used to identify the composition of materials in space and lunar environments and indicate how they can be recycled and repurposed. Right: a 3D-printed component made from astronauts' food packaging, cleaned using supercritical COâ‚‚ and converted into filament for 3D printing new objects.
