Galileo Second Generation expanded

The European Space Agency (ESA) has extended ongoing contracts with Airbus Defence and Space (Germany) and Thales Alenia Space (Italy) to build four additional Galileo Second Generation (G2) satellites, ensuring the long-term continuity of the constellation and supporting the rollout of new services. The contract signing event at Airbus Defence and Space (pictured) took place on 26 October 2026 in Ottobrunn, Germany.
