Galileo Second Generation fleet grows

The European Space Agency (ESA) has extended ongoing contracts with Thales Alenia Space (Italy) and Airbus Defence and Space (Germany) to build four additional Galileo Second Generation (G2) satellites, ensuring the long-term continuity of the constellation and supporting the rollout of new services. The contract signing event at Thales Alenia Space (pictured) took place on 23 October 2026 in Rome, Italy.
