Held at the Royal Society in London on 13 June, the ‘Space: the new view on climate change’ event focused on climate change monitoring by satellites and the achievements of ESA’s Climate Change Initiative.
Introduced by David Parker, Chief Executive of the UK Space Agency, speakers included David Willetts, UK Minister of State for Universities and Science (02:10); Volker Liebig, Director of ESA’s Earth Observation Programmes (13:35); Stephen Briggs, Chairman of the GCOS Steering Committee (33:55); Andrew Shepherd from the University of Leeds (48:15); Christopher Merchant from the University of Reading (01:10:00). The event was followed by a question and answer session (01:38:10).
