Tape 1 of 3 of the live launch event held at ESA's European Space Operation Centre (ESOC) Damstadt for the first launch of the new Meteosat Second Generation (MSG) satellites.
This tape contains the first part of the original studio production. Unfortunately the launch was delayed on the evening of this production, 28 August 2002, however the scaled down version of the studio production for the actual launch on the 29th August can be found on MSG Launch Event Tape 3.
