STS-114 was the first ""return to flight"" Space Shuttle mission following the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster. Mission STS-114 took off on July 26, 2005 and returned on August 9, 2005. The Space Shuttle Discovery took the crew into space. The launch was originally scheduled on Juny 13, 2005, but delayed due to fuel tank anomalies.
On its return, the Shuttle had to land at Edwards Air Force Base due to the poor weather at Kennedy Space Center, Florida.
The crew: Eileen Collins, James Kelly, Soichi Noguchi, Stephen Robinson, Andrew Thomas, Wendy Lawrence and Charles Camarda.
