GOCE launch: Why gravity matters ? - GOCE gravity
      ESA TV Exchanges
The GOCE satellite, developed by an industrial consortium of 45 companies distributed over 13 European countries, embodies many world-firsts in its design and use of new technology in space to map Earths gravity field in unprecedented detail.
To help us better understand this invisible phenomenon, ESA is launching this satellite solely dedicated to measuring gravity. GOCE will take millions of measurements of the earths gravity field and provide a global gravity field map of unprecedented accuracy. The Launch of GÓCE is the realization of an idea that has been in development for a long time.

      Why gravity matters ?
00:40:00 Gravity is the force that literally keeps our feet on the ground. Whether weíre walking, sitting, standing or flying itís gravity that hold us in place. To help us better understand this invisiblephenomenon ESA is launching a satellite solely dedicated tomeasuring gravity. This satellite will take millions of measurements of the earthís gravity field and provide a global gravity field map ofunprecedented accuracy. But what is gravity?

10:01:09 ITV Professor Reiner Rummel, Institute of Astrophysics andPhysical Geodesy, University of Munich.
-Newton the great scientific hero really asked the question about gravity and what he did can only be done by a real genius, he observed objects like the apple falling from the tree but he could connect this fall of the apple with the motion of the planets around the sun, and he discovered that this is all the same theory and he pu
