• Description

Since its launch on 16 February, Europe's Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV) is being monitored by the Mission Control Centre situated in Toulouse France. Of all the space freighters serving the International Space Station, ATV is the most advanced; it is capable of fully automatic rendezvous and docking, in a series of pre-programmed phases using the vehicle's advanced technologies. The first ATV, Jules Verne , demonstrated the excellence of these technologies.

This A & B-Roll describes the steps leading up to the docking, and includes interviews with Nico Dettmann, ESA's ATV Programme Production Manager, Jean-Francois Clervoy, ESA astronaut and ATV advisor, Charlotte Beskow, ESA's ATV-2 Deputy Mission Manager, and Kris Capelle, lead Mission Director at the ATV Control Centre in Toulouse. Interviews are in English and German.
