    • Description

The animation shows temporal and spatial variations in sea-surface salinity anomalies – deviations from the five-year mean value. Patterns in the Pacific and Indian Oceans can be related to large-scale ocean circulation phenomena, namely La Niña and the Indian Ocean Dipole, also known as the Indian Nino.
