The Destiny Laboratory was successfully launched as part of the STS-98 mission onboard the Atlantis Space Shuttle on the 7 February 2001. It was subsequently attached to the International Space Station using a combination of the Shuttle's robotic arm and three space walks. Prior to the launch NASA-TV transmitted a Destiny Laboratory Overview. This tape is a recording of that overview and includes a detailed description of the Destiny Laboratory by Susan Voss, STS-98 Launch Package Mangaer, with video inserts and stills of Destiny Laboratory construction and preparation. This presentation is followed by questions from journalists and broadcasters.
