International Space Station Flight 8A on board the Space Shuttle Atlantis launched on the 08 April 2002 for a 10 day mission to deliver the S0 (S-Zero) truss to the station. The STS-110 crew comprised of Commander Micheal J, Bloomfield, Pilot Stephen N, Frink, Mission Specialists Rex J. Walheim, Ellen Ochoa, Lee M.E. Morin, Steve L. Smith and Jerry L. Ross.
With 4 Spacewalks, by Rex Walheim and Steve Smith, and by using the stations robotic arm the SO truss was installed and outfitted. The STS-110 crew also prepared the station for future spacewalks and spent a week in joint operations with the Station's Expedition 4 crew. They also prepared the first railroad in space, the Mobile Transporter, for use.
