      A coporate video to support the ESA exhibition and event at the World Summit for Sustainable Developement in Johannesburg 2002. The video focuses on the European Space Agencies contributions towards Sustainable Developement by providing data on the Environment via their fleet of Earth Observation satellites.
      This copy comprises of an A-roll with English commentary and is complemented by a B-roll of copyright free images with clean international sound.

      SCRIPT
      VO: For three decades, earth observation satellites have been orbiting the globe with ever more sophisticated instruments, scrutinizing every aspect of our planet whether on the surface, above or beneath it. Satellites mean that scenes such as these are no longer hidden from the world's attention.

      VO: Today's agenda for Earth Observation from Space has moved on from its early application in weather forecasting and it's now dominated by different issues: understanding global change; the management of natural resources; the quality of the air we breathe; and our ability - if not to preempt man-made and natural disaster - then at least to cope more effectively with the after-effects.

      VO: We also expect affordable, yet high quality data; near real-time access and the availability of added-value products and services that reflect the multitude of individual end user requirements.
