The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is the next great space science observatory following Hubble, it's a great partnership between NASA, ESA and CSA. It was created to answer questions about the Universe and to make discoveries in all fields of astronomy. JWST will look into how stars and planets formed, exploring the birth of the first galaxies in the early Universe and much more!

This image shows the heart of M74, otherwise known as the Phantom Galaxy. Spooky! Webb’s super sharp vision shows strands of gas and dust in the large spiral arms which come out from the centre of this image.

The Pillars of Creation are seen in a kaleidoscope of colour in the near-infrared-light view. The pillars look like arches and spires rising out of a desert, but they are filled with gas and dust, and always changing. This is a place where young stars are forming!
