Embark on journey into the world of space technology with ESA astronaut Andreas Mogensen! Join us on Monday, December 4th, for a live connection from space as he interacts with students and teachers in Finland, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. Tune in to the livestream!

During a 20-minute live connection with the International Space Station (ISS), students and teachers will have the opportunity to talk with Andreas about technology in space and how technology developed and tested in space can help us on Earth. Andreas will also share some of the experiments he is performing as part of the Huginn mission, including the Ultra:space project, where students have designed a code-based experiment that can run on a pocket-sized computer on the ISS, called Astro Bit.

A livestream of the entire event, including the introductions from each country before the in-flight call, can be viewed below.

The livestream event will start at 13:00 CET. The in-flight call will start at around 13:40 CET and will last 20 minutes. The event will be conducted in English.

National events are being organised by four European Space Education Resource Office (ESERO)s: ESERO Finland, ESERO Denmark, ESERO Norway, and ESERO Sweden. Live connections will be made to these events taking place at Heureka Science Centre in Vantaa, Finland, Experimentarium in Hellerup, Denmark, KRONA Knowledge and Cultural Centre in Kongsberg, Norway, and Teknikens Hus in Luleå, Sweden, connecting primary and secondary school teachers and students across the respective countries.

The in-flight call with Andreas Mogensen is part of a wide range of educational activities delivered by ESA and the ESERO project across Europe. Currently, there are ESEROs operating in 21 ESA Member States and Associate Members. ESA’s ESERO project is a collaboration between ESA, national space agencies/offices and national educational partners.

ESERO is ESA's flagship project in support of primary and secondary education in Europe. The project uses the inspirational power of space, and the immense wealth of knowledge and competences generated by it, to boost the teaching and learning of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) disciplines at large. ESERO aims to enhance school pupils’ literacy and competence in STEM-related subjects through activities, tailored to national curricular, needs and context, that include training for teachers and educators, innovative didactic materials and projects, promotion activities, information about STEM careers, as well as access to roles models from national space industry and academia.
