This mosaic of four images, taken by the advanced Moon Imaging Experiment (AMIE) on board ESA's SMART-1 spacecraft, shows the Hadley Rille on the south-east edge of Mare Imbrium on the Moon.
The top-right image was obtained on 1 January 2006, from a distance of about 1936 kilometres from the surface, with a ground resolution of 175 metres per pixel, and it is centred at a latitude of 24.7º North and longitude 3.5º East.
The remaining images were obtained on 10 January 2006. The top-left image was taken from 1989 kilometres from the surface with a ground resolution of 180 metres per pixel, and is centred at a latitude of 27.4º North and longitude 3.5º East; the bottom-right image was taken from about 1936 kilometres from the surface with a ground resolution of 175 metres per pixel, and is centred at a latitude of 24.7º North and longitude 0.8º East; the bottom-left image was taken from about 1989 kilometres from the surface with a ground resolution of 180 metres per pixel, and is centred at a latitude of 27.4º North and longitude 0.8º East.
